Privacy policy

This policy covers the Matched Bets Calculator app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”) and this website, matchedbets.app (“the website”). Both are provided by AndyHQ, referred to as “we” or “us”. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described here. Questions and requests: support@matchedbets.app (see Contact).

The app

What the app stores

The app stores the information you enter: events, selections, markets, bookmakers and exchanges, currency, stakes, odds, commission, matched lay entries, dates, notes, links between bets and settlement amounts. It keeps revisions so you can correct records and recover deletions you can reverse. Calculations run on your device.

The app works without an app account, a bookmaker or exchange login, or a live-odds connection. We have no server that receives your records, and we can't see them.

Private iCloud

If your device is signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available to the app, your records are stored in your own private CloudKit database through Apple so they can sync between your devices. We can't browse private CloudKit records. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy apply. If iCloud isn't available, records are saved only on the device. Sync isn't a substitute for an independent backup.

Launch offer eligibility

To recognise early users for the lifetime Pro offer, the app asks Apple's StoreKit on your device for the app's signed App Store transaction (which includes the original version you downloaded and when). The check happens on your device. A positive result is cached in your device's private Keychain so it works offline. Nothing is sent to us.

App lock, widgets, reminders and Shortcuts

• App lock is optional and uses Apple's device authentication (Face ID, Touch ID or passcode). The app never receives biometric information. Sensitive content is hidden while the app is inactive.
• Widgets read a small summary from the app's protected shared container. Financial amounts are hidden by default and concealed when app lock is on.
• Reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on each device, with generic text rather than amounts.
• Shortcuts only open the calculator or bet list. Any app lock still applies.

Links from the website

When you tap Save in the app on the website, your calculator numbers are carried in the link itself and read by the app on your device to fill the calculator. They aren't sent to us.

Exports and backups

CSV and full-backup files can contain your financial records and notes. Exporting is your choice and uses Apple's sharing and file interfaces; wherever you save or send a file decides who can access it.

Advertising, analytics and tracking

The app contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK, doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and doesn't ask for your advertising identifier. Preferences and review-prompt timing are stored on your device. Review prompts use Apple's standard rating request. Apple may give developers aggregate, anonymous App Store and usage statistics from people who agree to share them with app developers; this is controlled in your device's settings.

The website

The free web calculator

Web calculations run entirely in your browser. Your latest inputs are kept in your browser's local storage for next time and are never sent to us. Use Reset calculator or clear site data to remove them. If you copy or share a calculation link, the numbers are in that link.

Analytics cookies (optional)

If you choose Accept, we load Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and links help people find the app — for example, how many visitors use the calculator or tap an App Store link. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that last up to two years. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation are always denied on this site, so analytics data isn't used for advertising. Our lawful basis is your consent.

If you choose Reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics isn't loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We remember your choice in local storage for 12 months. Change your cookie choice.

Hosting and security

The website is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or fingerprinting.

App Store links

App Store buttons carry a campaign label (for example web-hero) so Apple's App Analytics can tell us, in aggregate, how many downloads came from the website. Apple doesn't tell us who you are.

Football on TV channel reports

If you report a channel on Football on TV, we store your answer as an anonymous count. To allow one report per person per game, we also store a one-way hash of your IP address combined with the game and a secret value; it can't be turned back into your IP address. Both are deleted automatically three days after the game. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the listings accurate and free of spam. No cookie is set.

Support requests

If you contact support, we use what you send — your email address, name if you give it, and your message — only to investigate and reply, based on our legitimate interest in helping you. Emails to support@matchedbets.app are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our private mailbox and aren't used for marketing. Please don't send backup files, full exports, balances or account credentials; invented numbers are enough to explain an issue.

Retention and deletion

• App records remain while you use the app. Recently Deleted is reversible recovery, not permanent erasure.
• Deleting the app normally removes its local data, but not device backups, files you exported, or your private iCloud copy. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage and delete the app's data.
• We can't recover records you've deleted without a backup, because we never hold a copy.
• Website: analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months; your browser's calculator inputs and cookie choice stay until you clear them.
• Support: we keep support emails for up to 12 months after your issue is resolved, then delete them, or sooner if you ask.

Who else processes data

We don't sell or share personal data. The service providers involved are Apple (App Store, iCloud, StoreKit, App Analytics), Google (Google Analytics, only with your consent), and Cloudflare (website hosting and email forwarding). Some are based in the United States; they protect international transfers with recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent at any time. Because neither the app nor the website asks for your name, email or account, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or, in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Adults only

The app and website are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly process data about children.

Changes

If the app's features or data practices change, we'll update this policy and its effective date before the change takes effect.
