# Matched Bets

> Matched Bets Calculator is a free iPhone and iPad app (iOS 18+) for matched betting in the UK and Ireland. It calculates lay stakes, saves both sides of each bet and tracks settled profit, with GBP and EUR kept separate. matchedbets.app also offers a free web calculator that uses the same calculation engine as the app.

- Price: free. No account, no advertising, no analytics SDK in the app. Age rating 18+.
- Launch offer: the first 1,000 users get all future Pro features free for life. Eligibility comes from the user's original App Store download; no sign-up or code. Pro is in development.
- Bet types: qualifying (cash) bets, stake-not-returned (SNR) free bets, stake-returned (SR) free bets and refund offers.
- Lay strategies: standard, underlay, overlay and custom. Supports partial lay matches at individual odds and a fractional/decimal odds converter.
- Tracking: saves bookmaker and exchange sides, settles bets (back won, lay won, void or exact amounts), reports settled cash profit by date. Promotional value is never counted as cash.
- Privacy: calculations run on device; optional Face ID/passcode lock; CSV export and full backup.
- It does not place bets, fetch odds, connect to bookmaker accounts or guarantee profit. Not affiliated with any bookmaker or exchange.
- Not available on Android; the web calculator works in any browser.

Formulas used (commission c as a decimal, S stake, B back odds, L lay odds):
- Qualifying bet and SR free bet: lay stake = S × B ÷ (L − c)
- SNR free bet: lay stake = S × (B − 1) ÷ (L − c)
- Refund offer: lay stake = (S × B − award × conversion) ÷ (L − c)
- Liability = lay stake × (L − 1)
- Example: £10 at 3.0, lay 3.1, 2% commission → £9.74 lay, £20.45 liability, −£0.45 either way.
